The Combustion Engineering Association is an educational charity dedicated to serving the interests and furthering the causes of Combustion Engineering.
About CEA
The Combustion Engineering Association seeks to promote the science of combustion engineering and to promote best practice. The membership comprises the major fuel and energy producers/refiners covering Oil, Gas and Coal, the makers and suppliers of combustion engineering equipment, and academic institutions concerned with the combustion engineering process. It is unique in that “end user” companies are also in membership.
The Combustion Engineering Association is a registered educational charity and seeks to promote its aims through the following means:
- Education: The organisation of conferences and seminars.
- Representation: The Association also seeks to monitor and make representation on any proposed legislation from the UK or European sources which may affect the combustion engineering industry, and to this end liaises with the UK Government through the Department of the Environment, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Environment Agency, the British Standards Institution, and other statutory bodies such as the Health and Safety Executive.
- Promotion: Through its Steam Users Group, the Association seeks to promote the use of steam as a major source of energy in industrial processes, and the concept of Combined Heat and Power in energy management. The Association’s Technical Group is concerned with environmental and other legislation impending on the combustion process, and responds to consultation requests from Government – both in UK and the European Community.
- Specialist Advice: Through its members, CEA can often provide expert advice and assistance on many subjects related to industrial and commercial combustion processes and practices, notably relating to Oil, Coal, Gas and also industrial waste incineration.
